IQ Test Booking Terms and Conditions

Test Session Format
The Supervised Mensa IQ Test session takes the form of pencil-and-paper tests conducted under examination conditions
Candidates should allow approximately 2 ½ hours for the full session
Two tests will be taken on the day, usually with a comfort break between papers. A score in the top two per cent on either paper will result in an invitation to join Mensa
Results will normally be issued by post 7-10 days after the test
The Supervised Mensa IQ Test is only suitable for persons over the age of ten and a half years. Please do not apply for this test if you are younger than this as we would be unable to produce your IQ score
Younger children would need to be assessed by an educational psychologist to find out their IQ score - your local health authority or education authority can help you to find professionals in your area. For more information please contact the Mensa office on 01902 772771
Candidates under the age of 16 must be accompanied to the test centre by an adult, who must remain on the premises for the duration of the session
Please inform us if you have any disability. Mensa is only able to offer some of the written tests available. Unfortunately, we are not permitted to enlarge the test or alter it in any way. If you require extra time or special allowances for your disability, it is advisable that you have a one-to-one assessment carried out by a psychologist. For more information please contact the Mensa office on 01902 772771
Please note, if you have previously taken a Mensa Supervised IQ Test but not achieved a score in the top two per cent, we must ask you to wait twelve months before re-attempting the test.
Booking Conditions
The test fee is non-refundable
A booking confirmation letter will be sent, along with details of the venue. Please do not attend unless your place on the test has been confirmed
In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the control of Mensa, reasonable efforts will be made to notify the candidate.
Mensa is not liable for any other expenses or consequential losses incurred by the individual candidate due to the cancellation of a test session.
Where preferred test session dates are not available, or are fully booked, alternative session dates will be offered.
British Mensa will endeavour to ensure all the advertised test sessions are run but reserve the right to cancel a session. An alternative date will be offered.
Data Protection
Your personal details will be processed in order to book your place on the supervised test session, mark the test and communicate the results to you. Should your results indicate you are eligible for membership of Mensa, we will retain your personal details for administration purposes, including your test score.
If your result does not indicate you are eligible to join the society, we will remove your personal details from our records after a period of time which will be determined by our financial legal obligations.
Please note that after your details have been removed we may still retain your test results in an anonymous form for research purposes.
